Leoma Fire Is Under Investigation

An investigation has been launched into the source of a fire that erupted inside a Leoma area home Monday afternoon.

The emergency call sounded around 2:40 p.m., sending emergency personnel to a mobile home at 124 Kyle Road, Leoma.

According to reports filed by Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies, they received a request from Fire Investigator Shayne Adams of the Lawrenceburg Fire Department, to generate a report regarding the fire.

Reports show that the blaze was first noticed by neighbor Myra Brown. Brown told officials that she had carried a friend home, then returned to her own residence. When she looked out a brief time later, she noticed the house was on fire. She quickly placed a telephone call to summon help.

Although there had been initial concerns regarding a vehicle in the area, Adams indicates that the vehicle has been accounted for and was not suspicious in nature.

Adams indicates that, to date, the cause of the fire is undetermined. The case remains under continued investigation at the current time.
