Another PHONE SCAM is going around. I spoke with a lady today that said a “Sgt King” called from the phone number of 706-503-3937.

This scam consisted of the threat of arrest for missing jury duty from an adjacent county. This lady was instructed to get a Green Dot Card and wire money to this fake officer to satisfy “her bond” on this fake mobile arrest. Sadly to say, this particular lady was scammed for approximately $3200.00 dollars. If you receive a phone call like this hang up and do not give them any personal or banking information. No law enforcement agency would ever ask to be wired money in-lieu of an arrest. As always, if you are in need of assistance contact the Sheriffs Office or 911.
