Warrants Issued Against Husband For Injuring Wife

Warrants were issued against an Iron City man Wednesday after he allegedly injured his wife during a domestic altercation inside their home.

Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to intervene in the altercation around 7:20 p.m. When they arrived, they report the male subject involved had left the premises.

The victim reported that she and her husband, thirty-three year old Bryan Hamilton, had initially been arguing about money. She said that the argument escalated and that he picked up a telephone and threw it, intentionally striking her in the nose and mouth. She told deputies that when she began placing a 911 call for assistance, Hamilton fled from the property.

Deputies noted that the victim’s mouth was swollen and bleeding. At the time of the altercation Hamilton had been free from incarceration under a conditional bond in connection with a January attack against the same victim.

Due to evidence garnered at the scene, deputies report that new warrants were issued against Hamilton, increasing the severity of the charges against him from domestic assault to aggravated domestic assault.
