Owner Returns To Disabled Truck To Find It Has Been Burned

A local man summoned law enforcement officers to a remote Iron City location Sunday after he returned to his disabled vehicle to find that someone had burned it.

The victim, age 40, reported the matter to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department. He said that he had been riding on a side road off of Tidwell Hollow Road on Saturday when his Chevrolet S-10 truck became stuck in the mud. He told deputies that this had occurred at around 1:00 a.m.

The victim told deputies that he had found someone to pull his truck out of the mud and returned to the location at around 4:00 p.m. Sunday.

As they approached, he said he discovered that the truck had been burned. He estimated the truck’s value at $1,000.
