Officers Investigate Fraud Incident

   Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were asked to open an investigation Wednesday after a resident realized that she was the victim of identity theft.

   The victim, age 52, reported that she had learned that someone had used her debit card information to make several purchases. Her information was used with T-Mobile of Washington, resulting in charges of $641.46; at Office Max in Itasca, Illinois for $602.11; and at Footsmart in Georgia for the amount of $155.97. The illegal charges totaled around $1,400.

   Deputies were able to provide the victim with contact information for all three credit bureaus as well as the website information for the Crime Complaint Center.
