Homesteading: Feeding Your Family From Your Backyard

Have you ever dreamed about living off the land?  Cracking eggs so fresh they’re still warm when you put them in the pan.  Eating home-grown green beans in January?  Biting into a sun warmed tomato picked from your own vines?

Lawrence County Extension is offering an introductory program to help you get started with this dream.  “Homesteading: Feeding Your Family from Your Backyard” will be taught Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at the Extension Community Meeting Room.  The program will begin at 10:00 a.m.

You will be introduced to growing and harvesting your own food, from livestock to vegetables, from soil to table.  The meeting is free, but please register so that materials will be available for all.  For more information or to register, call Lawrence County Extension 931-762-5506.
