Charges Pending Against Summertown Man In Truck Theft, Home Invasion

A Summertown man jailed on unrelated charges Tuesday has been identified as the suspect in several recent crimes.

Lawrence County Sheriff Jimmy Brown reported that Brandon Ray Blake, age 25, of 137 Buie Road, was arrested on outstanding warrants during the search of his home.

Brown reports that department detectives had been investigating a series of crimes that included a home invasion, theft of a Dodge truck, and burglary at a local business. During the investigation detectives received a tip regarding the location of the stolen truck.

When they responded to Blake’s home, they report finding the stolen truck parked behind the residence. While speaking with some of the residents, deputies were able to collect evidence that suggested that someone at the home was involved in the recent crimes.

A search of the home was undertaken. During the search deputies report finding that Blake had concealed himself beside a bed in an upstairs bedroom.

They report that during the search they found evidence that linked Blake to the home invasion and the business burglary, as well as the theft of the truck.

Blake was arrested on an outstanding warrant for violation of probation and incarcerated at the Lawrence County Detention Center. Brown reports that detectives will seek indictments in the recent crimes during the next session of the Lawrence County Grand Jury.

Blake is currently incarcerated without bond. Both Giles and Maury County authorities have requested that he be transferred to face charges in those counties, as well.
