Resident Arrested For Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend

   A Lawrenceburg man was jailed late Monday after he allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend inside her motel room.

   John Curtis Kingsbury, 56, of 207 Parkes Avenue was arrested on charges on domestic assault around 10:45 p.m. after law enforcement officials were summoned to Traveler’s Motel on North Locust Avenue.

   When they arrived, officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department report they found the couple sitting on the bed. They noted that the thirty-seven-year-old victim was bleeding on the side of her face and had red marks about her neck.

   The victim told officers that Kingsbury had just finished his court-ordered domestic violence classes and came to her motel room uninvited. She said that he began yelling at her about her current boyfriend. He then reportedly struck her with the telephone and began choking her about the throat.

   Kingsbury currently remains jailed at the Lawrence County Detention Center. He is scheduled for an initial appearance in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on March 4, 2011.
