Murder Trial Scheduled To Get Underway Tuesday
Trial for a local pair accused in the 2013 murder of Five Points resident Robert Oscar Davis is scheduled to get underway in Lawrence County Circuit Court this week.
Davis, age 46, of 46 Holloway Road, Five Points, was last seen by a relative in the early hours of Friday, May 3, 2013. He was reported missing by his sister the following Monday after he failed to show up for work. His 2001 Chevrolet truck was found abandoned on Wisdom Road in West Point the following day.
After an extensive search Davis’ body was recovered eight days after he went missing in a wooded area in the vicinity of Bryant Boswell/Mt. Lebanon Roads. Autopsy revealed that he had died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.
A special session of the Lawrence County Grand Jury was called on May 31, 2013. After hearing evidence, the panel issued indictments of first degree murder, felony murder, and aggravated robbery against Ricky Lee Houser, 50, of 425 Mt. Lebanon Road.
Indictments were also issued against thirty-four year old Rachel Kay Bond of 255 Second Creek Road, Five Points. Bond, who had previously been in a relationship with Davis, was indicted on one count of criminal responsibility for first degree murder.
Trial is scheduled to get underway in circuit court on Tuesday, February 3, 2013.
