Joint Operation Snares Gang Member With Bi-County Drug Operations

A multi-jurisdictional operation has netted the capture of a known gang member who was allegedly running a large marijuana operation out of two counties, including Lawrence.

According to a press release issued by Lawrence County Sheriff Jimmy Brown Monday, Earon Bernard Siler, 30, of Summertown was apprehended Saturday in connection with numerous drug transactions. Brown reports that Siler is a known member of Kitchen Crypt.

The joint operation, launched in July of 2010, utilized members of the Lawrence and Maury County Sheriff’s Departments and the Mount Pleasant and Lawrenceburg Police Departments. The lengthy investigation was undertaken in an effort to intervene in marijuana trafficking in both counties.

Brown reports that members of the task force executed search warrants Saturday at two homes out of which Siler was allegedly distributing marijuana. Agents were able to recover marijuana and drug paraphernalia from Siler’s 212 North Old Military Road home in Summertown as well as a home he utilized at 702 South Main Street in Mount Pleasant.

As a result of the operation Siler was taken into custody along with his alleged accomplice, Crystal McClain, 27, of Mount Pleasant.

Brown reports that evidence regarding numerous instances of undercover drug purchases will be presented to the Lawrence and Maury County Grand Juries.
