Abused baby fights for life, parents arrested

A Lawrenceburg baby continues to fight for her life in a Nashville hospital after allegedly suffering extreme physical abuse at the hands of her father.Information from a Lawrenceburg Police Department Facebook post indicates that the parents,

Michael Fisher and Brooklyn Tidwell, were arrested after taking their two-month-old daughter for medical attention at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems Lawrenceburg early Sunday morning.

Family members indicate that the baby had sustained extensive injuries including nine broken ribs, a broken arm, fractured wrist, lacerated liver and a punctured lung.

The infant was also said to have bleeding in her brain. They indicated that the couple waited four hours before seeking medical attention for the baby, Addilyn, going to the hospital only after she began to experience seizures and bleed from her nose.

She was quickly airlifted via Lifeflight to the Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for additional care. Family members indicate that Fisher confessed that he had caused Addilyn’s injuries when he was unable to get her to stop crying.

As a result of the police department investigation Tidwell was jailed on a charge of child neglect, with her bond set at $50,000. Fisher is charged with child neglect, child endangerment, and attempted murder.

His bond has been set at $500,000. Both Tidwell and Fisher have been scheduled an initial appearance in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on Thursday, February 7, 2019
