Franklin Drive Woman Arrested For Domestic Assault

A Franklin Drive woman was taken into custody by law enforcement officials who were summoned to intervene in a domestic altercation Monday night.

Brenda Allen Curry, 48, of 14 Franklin Drive, Lawrenceburg, was arrested on charges of vandalism and aggravated assault.

Reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department show that officers were dispatched to the home at 11:45 p.m. When they spoke with the sixty-four-year-old male victim, he indicated that Curry had awakened him, looking for his wallet. They argued, he said, then she went upstairs and began throwing his daughter’s belongings onto the front yard.

During the tirade, the victim reports that Curry broke items and made threats to “blow his head off.”

The victim reports that at this point, Curry went into their bedroom and retrieved a loaded .357 Colt handgun she kept in the dresser. Although she held the gun behind her back and never actually pointed it at him, the victim indicated the action did place him in fear. He stated that he was able to take the gun away from Curry and unload it. She then allegedly made threats to burn the house down while he was inside, and burn their vehicles. She then left the house.

Officers made contact with Curry when they pulled into the driveway. They report that she was verbally combative and extremely uncooperative. Her actions were captured on one officer’s in-car video system.

As a result of the incident, officers placed Curry under arrest and transported her to the Lawrence County Jail for booking.

Curry is slated to answer the charges through Lawrence County General Sessions Court on Monday, February 18, 2008.
