Wednesday Crime Report
Vandalism
Residents of Shackleford Road reported to deputies that while checking a fence line they noticed that someone had dug a hole in their back yard. They said they have no idea who may have dug the hole.
Burglary
Deputies investigated a burglary on Beartown Road on Saturday. The victim reported that a 12 gauge shotgun and shells had been stolen out of his 1986 Chevrolet truck overnight. The gun had been in the gun rack mounted on the back glass of the truck. The victim’s daughter reported hearing the dog barking and a vehicle pull into the driveway between 11:30 and 12:00 the previous night. Loss was approximately $90.
Burglary
The owner of a vacant house used for storage on Concord Road reported that someone had knocked out a window in order to gain entry. The porch rail had been knocked down. The victim said it appeared the culprit had broken the window, then reached inside and unlocked the door. Several items were missing, including drinking glasses, a tote filled with Christmas lights, and a tote filled with shoes. The items had a value of around $35.
Attempted burglary
Deputies investigated the attempted burglary of a house, used for storage, on Jerel Lane in Summertown. The structure had sustained around $250 worth of damage when someone tried to pry open a window and the front door. The owner was uncertain whether entry had actually been made.
Burglary
Approximately $350 worth of damage was reported at a J.R. Staggs Road home as the result of a burglary. A window was broken on the home and a second left open. Several items inside had been broken and a printer, VCR/DVD player, and portable radio had been removed from the interior and placed underneath the house.
Theft
Deputies responded to a Brace Road shop where the owner reported a sink was missing from outside the building and various tools had been stolen from the inside. The owner estimated loss to be more than $1,500.
Theft
Deputies investigated the theft of a 1986 Ford Bronco from a Weaver Circle property. The owner said she was in the process of moving and returned to discover that the vehicle was missing. Approximate value is $1,500.
Theft
A black utility trailer valued at $400 was reported stolen from a Watson Road property in mid-January.
Stolen/returned ATV
The owner reported that a green kids four wheeler was stolen reportedly stolen from the basement of a Pondfield Road home, resulting in a $200 loss. The victim reported hearing noises and said that she had noticed a suspicious vehicle near her home several times prior to the theft. She contacted deputies the following day to say that the four wheeler had been returned. She said someone had left it on her back porch.
Theft
A local resident reported that stolen the handicap tag from his 2003 Ford Crown Victoria while it was parked at a Summertown market. Loss is approximately $50.
