Lawrenceburg Liberty Day Celebration Set For July 3

Officials with the City of Lawrenceburg announced Thursday that the 2010 Lawrenceburg Liberty Day celebration will be held on Saturday, July 3.

Members of the Lawrenceburg Board of Mayor and Council had been asked by officials with the Natchez Trace Wilderness Preserve to coordinate the two celebrations during the July 4 weekend so that individuals might participate in both events.

Mayor Keith Durham said Thursday that the city will hold their annual celebration on Saturday, allowing the Wilderness Preserve to host its event on Sunday, July 4.

Durham told members of the council that he has already contacted officials with some local civic clubs regarding their possible participation in this year’s event. Club officials have indicated their desire to participate; possibly allowing the sale of food and other items. Also, music and entertainment may be a part of this year’s event, as well.
