Intruder Enters Wrong Home Then Threatens Resident

A resident of a Lawrenceburg apartment complex returned to his home Monday morning to discover an intruder was lying on his couch.

The victim, age 38, reported the incident at 7:20 a.m. to officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department. He reported he had left his Manor Drive apartment for around ten minutes, then returned to find a man lying on his couch.

The victim told deputies he told the man, “You scared me,” and that the man replied, “Well I guess you’re lucky that I didn’t have my gun.”

The resident said he had no idea who the man was and questioned him about why he had entered his apartment. The man asked “if he knew George” and the resident indicated he did not.

The resident said he had to ask the man repeatedly to leave his home. After several minutes, he said the man exited the apartment. He told police that he had the impression the man knew a resident in the complex and had possibly entered the wrong apartment.

The intruder was described as a white male, 6’ 3” tall, 240 pounds, between 40 and 50 years of age, with gray hair. At the time of the incident he was attired in coveralls and a Carhart coat.

Investigation into the matter is currently continuing through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
