Woman Stabbed And Run Over With Truck During Altercation

A Lawrenceburg woman was reportedly stabbed, then run over with a truck during an altercation with an acquaintance Saturday night.

Lawrenceburg Police Officers were dispatched to initiate an investigation in regards to the woman being run over, around 8:10 p.m. Saturday at her 406 Prosser Road home. When they arrived on the scene, officers report the victim was unresponsive, lying in the floor of her home. When she came to, officers report she began screaming in pain, asking whether her leg was broken.

In addition to the leg injury, officers report the woman had sustained two cuts to the chest. She was quickly transported by ambulance to Crockett Hospital for medical attention.

During an interview at the hospital the victim told officers she had left her home around 7:30 p.m. with a friend to go to a bar. Once there, she reports he wanted to leave with a girl he had been dating. The victim told officers “she wouldn’t let him,” and that they began to argue, then left with his brother.

The victim indicated that the brother was seated in the passenger seat of his blue GMC truck, she in the center, and that her attacker, Timothy Brad Hammond, 32, of 422 Third Street, Lawrenceburg, was driving.

During the drive the victim reports that Hammond “kept hitting his brakes, causing her to hit her head on the dash and the back glass.” When they made a stop on Marable Road, the victim reports she jumped out of the vehicle and fled, but Hammond pursued and captured her, dragging her back to the truck.

Inside the truck the victim reports that Hammond began yelling and pulled out a pocket knife, then used it to stab her twice. She said the brother took the knife away and made attempts to protect her.

Once they arrived back at her home, the victim reported Hammond “threw her out of the truck and sped off, running over her leg.”

The victim’s mother told officers she had been watching television with her grandson when she heard the sound of squealing tires. She then heard her daughter at the back door, screaming. She said she came in and collapsed on the floor.

As a result of the events officers made their way to Hammond’s home. He was placed under arrest on charges of aggravated domestic assault and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.

Hammond is slated to answer the charge through Lawrence County General Sessions Court on March 5, 2010.
