Burglar Captured After Invading Two Five Points Homes

An Alabama man was taken into custody last week after he allegedly invaded two homes in southwestern Lawrence County.

Reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department show that units answered a burglary call to a home at 21 Powell Road around 10:30 Wednesday morning. The resident told deputies that the man entered the home uninvited, stating that his vehicle had broken down.

The victim told deputies he was able to push the man out of his home, then lock the door behind him. Reports show that when the suspect drove away he caused approximately $500 in damage to the victim’s property.

While still at the first home deputies report they received a call regarding a burglary in progress at nearby 5 Powell Road. When they arrived on the scene, deputies report finding suspect Donald Andrew Green, Jr., age 20 of Lexington, Alabama, simply sitting on the front porch.

When they made contact with the victim she reported she had found Green standing inside the hallway of her home. She stated that she placed a 911 call to seek help and at that point Green exited the house. She said that Green rummaged through her car before deputies arrived, then walked back to the house and sat down on the porch.

Green was taken into custody and transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center. There he was booked under charges that include burglary, aggravated burglary, criminal trespassing, vandalism and being a fugitive from justice.
