Summertown Man Arrested For Rape, Incest In Giles County

Additional charges expected in neighboring counties

   A resident of the Summertown area was arrested Tuesday in neighboring Giles County on sex-related charges involving minors.

   Officials with the Giles County Sheriff’s Department report that the department was made aware of the allegations on Monday, leading to the arrest of thirty-four year old James Alton Pierce, Jr.

   Pierce was incarnated at the Giles County Detention Center on charges of rape, incest, and enticing/purchasing alcoholic beverages for minors.

   Giles authorities said that an investigation is also underway in Lawrence County regarding rape allegations, and that he faces unrelated charges in Maury County, as well.

   Pierce was jailed under a bond of $24,500. He is scheduled to appear in Giles County General Sessions Court on January 29, 2015.
