Insyte To Relocate Giant-Vac To Lawrence County

InSyte Solutions, Inc. announced today that it will close the South Windham, Connecticut facility of its wholly owned subsidiary Giant- Vac and relocate all manufacturing operations and warehousing previously conducted there into its Lawrenceburg Tennessee facility.

The relocation and integration of the manufacturing processes with existing   InSyte Solution current production in Lawrenceburg is expected to be completed by April, 1st. Further details are being communicated to customers and suppliers.

Giant -Vac, was acquired by InSyte in May of 2010. Giant Vac has been a recognized leader in the United States for more than 50 years in the production of consumer, professional, and municipal leaf and debris control equipment.

Its products include blowers, vacuums, truck loaders, and walk behind field, brush, and yard mowers that are marketed exclusively through a national network of 8 independent distributors and several national accounts.

Seasonal production in the Connecticut facility has previously peaked at 75 employees.

Tony Janiak the former owner will remain as a senior advisor to the company after the move.  

A few of the employees currently employed are anticipated to be relocated to Lawrenceburg, but the majority of the Giant-Vac work operations should by absorbed by existing and additional local employees.

The transferred production processes involved, vendor suppliers required, product development, and quality efforts are similar to existing and previously manufactured products by the managers and production teams that are scheduled for the new work.

Blake Lay, a partner in Insyte Solutions, Inc. made the announcement here today and commented:

“We are confident that the consolidation of Giant Vac operations into our existing Lawrenceburg facility will enable us to intensify our focus on and support of Giant-Vac, and as a result provide our outstanding distributor network improved service and new products for their customers.”

“Importantly, we are also pleased to increase utilization of our existing facilities here and be able to rehire valued former employees. We intend to continue to broaden our presence in the Lawrenceburg community as we grow and expand our Company,” he added.
