Sewer Work Begins In Ethridge

Construction began this week in Ethridge to install a much needed sewer system. Although not every one in Ethridge will receive this service initially, approximately 100 combined residents and businesses will benefit from Phase I of this project. Installation will start on Lincoln St. and move west to the railroad tracks, then track north to the city limits.

The estimated time of completion is July 22, 2008. At the time Ethridge applied for the grant to help fund this project, the estimated failure rate of septic tanks in the city was approximately fifty percent.
