Free CPR Program For Mount Pleasant

Maury Regional Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will offer a free community CPR program at Mount Pleasant High School on Thursday, January 27, from 7 until 9 p.m. The program will be held in the school cafeteria and is open to the public.

The program will be taught by certified CPR instructors from Maury Regional EMS and will be based on the American Heart Association’s guidelines. This interactive and educational session will provide hands-on training in the basics of CPR; however this is not a certification course.

“This program is perfect for parents of small children, teens who babysit and anyone who would like to learn basic life-saving techniques,” said Shane Ware, director of Maury Regional EMS. “Our goal is to teach as many members of our community as possible how to correctly perform CPR in an emergency.”

During our “411 on 911” segment, learn about emergency medical services, including when to call 911 and the actions that emergency personnel take to immediately initiate patient care. Participants will also find out how professionals in the emergency department communicate with EMS to prepare for a patient’s arrival and treatment.

Class size is limited and reservations are required. For more information and to register, call 931.490.7223.
