Lawrenceburg Man Arrested In Friday Hit And Run
Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department officials reported Saturday morning that an arrest had been made in connection with a hit and run incident that left one man with critical injuries Friday.
Sheriff’s deputies, along with Troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, were dispatched to the scene where a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle at the U.S. Highway 43/Lamb’s Ferry Road intersection. The victim was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville with life-threatening injuries.
Detectives with the sheriff’s department’s Criminal Investigation Division quickly joined the investigation. They report that evidence was collected at the scene “linking this accident with an argument that had occurred between a father and son.”
As a result of the preliminary investigation, detectives report that Zachary David Blake, age 22, of 405 Oak Street, Lawrenceburg was arrested at around 9:00 Saturday morning. He was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center where he was booked under charges of attempted first degree murder and aggravated assault.
Blake was incarcerated without bond. He was scheduled an initial appearance in General Sessions Court for the coming week.
At the time a press release on the matter was released Saturday morning, the victim was reported to be in critical but stable condition. Investigation in the matter is currently on-going.
