Tuesday Crime Report
Theft
The hostess at Heritage Campground and RV Park, located at 135 Amish Circle in Ethridge, reported to deputies Tuesday that a heater had been stolen from inside a cabin on the premises. The electric fireplace-type heater had been purchased at a price of $175 and set inside the cabin pending installation.
Vehicle burglary
Deputies were dispatched to investigate the burglary of a 1997 Honda SUV on White Oak Drive in Leoma Saturday. A side window was busted out and $110 cash taken from the victim’s purse, which she was said was hidden from view. The only other item missing was a key for a second vehicle in the driveway. Nothing appeared to be missing from the second car and it had sustained no damage. Loss and damages were assessed at approximately $400.
Vandalism
On Saturday a resident of Mint Springs Road in Ethridge reported to deputies that someone had vandalized his water pump housing by running over it. He said the damage had occurred sometime after December 28. He said his water pressure dropped on January 8 and when he went to check for a problem, he discovered the damages. He told deputies that someone had also hit the back side of the housing with a vehicle, causing the tank to become dislodged and impairing its operation. He estimated damages to be $600.
Burglary
A Loretto resident reported returning to his Lexington Highway home Sunday to find the front door had been kicked open and his 46” Toshiba flat screen TV was missing. Damages and loss were said to total $520.
