Residents Threatened At Gun Point During Home Invasion

Residents of Lawrenceburg’s Old Florence Road report they were threatened at gun point when two men invaded their home in the early hours Sunday morning.

The couple, both age 32, summoned Lawrenceburg Police Officers to the scene of the assault shortly before 2:30 a.m.

The female resident told officers she had awakened to hear someone prowling about in the living room of their mobile home. She stated that she quickly awakened her husband and asked him to find the source of the sounds.

The husband told officers that when he walked into his living room, he found two men wearing “hoodies,” standing inside his home. He reported that one of the men pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot him unless he handed over drugs or money.

In the meantime, the female resident was placing a 911 call to summon assistance. The couple reports that when the two intruders heard her speaking with authorities, they turned and fled from the premises.

The matter is under continued investigation at the current time through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone who has information regarding the crime is encouraged to contact the department at 762-2276.
