Ed Lindsey Passes At Age 95

   Former Mayor of the City of Lawrenceburg, Edward “Ed” Lindsey, passed away Tuesday at the age of 95.

   Lindsey served as President of the local Lindsey Manufacturing company. Lindsey Manufacturing company, established in 1939, produced church furnishings. He was a member of the Lions Club since 1946 serving in many positions in that club throughout his lifetime.

During a convention in New York in 1966, Lindsey was elected President of The International Association of Lions Clubs.

   Lindsey was active in work for the blind and served as president of Ed Lindsey Industries of the Blind.

A Lion and a member of the Lawrenceburg Lions Club since l946, Past President Lindsey has had a perfect attendance record since that time.

He has held many positions in association including club president, zone chairman, district governor and served a two-year term as a member of the association's board of directors from l960-62.

Active in work for the blind, Past President Lindsey is president of Ed Lindsey Industries of the Blind and recently received the National Board Member of the Year Award from the National Industries for the Blind.

He is also president of the Lawrence County Lions Nursing Home and the Lawrenceburg Lions Home, a member of the board of trustees of Martin College and former vice chairman of the board of trustees for Columbia State Community College. Past President Lindsey and his wife, Virginia, have a daughter, Ann, and three grandchildren.
