Local Goody’s To Close

  Officials with Goody’s Family Clothing have announced that the corporation will be liquidating stock and closing up shop due, in part, to economic downturn.

  It was just four months ago that the Knoxville-based retailer emerged from Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection. Officials indicate that the move will affect all 278 of the corporation’s Goody’s stores.

  Liquidation of stock at the stores will begin on Friday. Company officials anticipate that the stores will close by the end of March.

  The Lawrenceburg Goody’s employs a total of twenty-three.
