Columbia Man Returned To Face Lawrence Charges
A Lawrenceburg resident who now resides in Columbia was returned into the custody of local authorities New Year’s Eve to face drug charges.
Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department made their way to the Lawrence/Maury County line around 10:45 Thursday to meet Maury County authorities and assume custody of Kyle Shumate, age 24.
Shumate was arrested earlier in the day at his 400 Stonebridge Way, Columbia, home on warrants issued through Lawrence County Circuit Court.
Shumate was transported to the Lawrence County Jail where he was booked under two counts of illegal possession of Schedule II narcotics (Dilaudid).
Shumate is scheduled for an appearance in Lawrence County Circuit Court on Monday, January 11, 2010.
