Toddler drowned in residential pool in Killen Alabama Thursday morning.

Authorities have confirmed that a two-year-old female child drowned Thursday morning at a home on Oxford Drive in Killen.

Killen Police Chief Bryan Hammond tells Shoals Insider the father of the child discovered the toddler in the pool and immediately started to perform CPR, after calling 911.

The father reportedly looked throughout the home for the toddler and found her in the pool unresponsive. This according to Chief Hammond.

The child was transported by ambulance to North Alabama Medical Center in Florence where she was later pronounced deceased.

Hammond said foul play was not suspected but the case remains under investigation which is customary.

Chief Hammond said the call came into 911 at around 9:23am Thursday.
